After East Coast upbringings and educations, Katie and Matthew both eventually found their way West, to the City of Angels (and entertainment industry jobs). Few of the angels in Los Angeles watch over the single though, so eventually they both turned to the internet god of dating, OKCupid.

Internet Cupid fired his arrows and sent them to The Dresden, in Los Feliz, for after work drinks. Katie, an assistant editor on Nashville, and Matthew, an assistant editor on Glee, immediately bonded over musical network television and editing keyboard shortcuts (as well as an appreciation of good bourbon), and before their second drinks were done, Matthew asked Katie out on another date.

Soon they were planning a summer hiatus trip to Europe, and after 22 travel days, 5 countries, and a French train strike, they were pretty sure they could get through anything together. To see photos feel free to visit their travel blog, European Decision List

Having survived Europe, they decided their next adventure would be to get a loft together in Downtown Los Angeles. One day in March of 2014, Matthew came home from work early, decorated the entire loft with flowers, and then watched Groundhog Day because Katie got stuck at work late. When she finally did get home, lit by the late night glow of the downtown lights, and about fifty candles, Matthew asked Katie to spend the rest of her life with him, and she said yes.
